wayfd...why I delete his posts:

1.Because he comes off as a jerk.

2.And it makes me laugh that he gets so mad.

re: must have more radio
me too! hand it over. - just another writer

01:15 p.m.

Is that so strange?
A "king upon men", well.....maybe. C'mon I can't be the only Art Director that likes to write radio. Am I? The way I look at it, if my writer says go ahead and give it a shot, why not? An idea in my head must come out. I don't care what the medium is...and radio is by far the easiest to execute. I can even write the thing on a napkin. No searching for hours through stock photo books, no snotty models on a shoot, no picking just the right font. Just an idea, and some verbage. I LOVE IT. MUST.....HAVE.....MORE!!! -Crayolaking

misled idiots
are some people under the impression that this site has some mysterious powers over people's careers? that anyone gives a flying fuck about what's posted here? you chest poundy defenders of the advertising faith telling us this and that can shove it. i eagerly await your lame unfunny insults that will include references to:
a) my deteriorating career in direct marketing, or
b) my deteriorating career at Padulo or Wolf or Cundari or wherever the fuck you think it's cool to make fun of, or
c) my deteriorating career as a suit.
thanks in advance for fucking off

Re: The Response to "Radio is the ultimate"
"Fuck you"?!?!?!?

Christ, with feedback like this, you deserve the clients you have there at Padulo. No wonder you hate radio so much.

12:03 p.m.

wanker
put your name up here asshole and you'll never work again... not a threat, just the reality.... go to any creative directors' forum and say the same thing... just go on, wear a mask if you have to. your words will be remembered

re wank wank wank
Well what do you want to talk about then? Beside the fact that we're all losers. Fonts?

11:59 a.m.

What the fuck?!
An art director who likes to write radio? You sir are king among men.

wank wank wank
this radio discussion is really geeky and uninteresting. radio sucks ass. always has, always will. take that "real american heroes" campaign and pound it up your ass. 1 good campaign out of 100000000000000 does not a good medium make.

11:54 a.m.

Radio etc.
As an Art Director, I cherish the brief times that I have been given the opportunity to write radio. For once I don't have to worry about what the damn thing looks like, how long my photoshoot will take etc. All I have to do is spew out my concept into words which is more of a challenge and is way more rewarding. It's like someone reading out your storyboard. Stop whining people. The only bad radio comes from bad ideas and bad writers. I for one would kill to be given the opportunity to do more radio ads. Guess I should switch and become a copywriter. Someone asked about the young creatives contest...this week's edition of marketing has the details. -Crayolaking

quoting people on radio advertising
if you can find a single creative with more than one 'lucky' internation award who'll dis radio, find them.... your incessant degrading is simply testiment to your creative credential... PS put your name up herer and see who'll ever hire you , too

re:the final word on radio?
I find it hard to believe Mark Fitzgerald would make such a short sighted and ignorant comment like that...perhaps he was making it in reference to how clients view radio ads but I would be extremely careful in quoting Fitzy that way

radio
yeah a couple of things here. First. just because ya don't like a medium doesn't make it dead. If things we didn't like just were dead, well driving to work would be a lot more fun than it is. And whether it's dead or not, or whether it's a chance to prove your worth or just some great sucking wound of copy-hell, is irrelevant. If your fucking client comes to you and says "do some radio" then ya do it right?

the thing to remember boys and girls is that we are not, when we're hooring for clients, ARTISTS (piss-artist more like). So just do the best you can and stop insulting people who do radio or dm as being somehow less than you- oh great guru of fucking creative- because you get to do beer ads on TV (like that's been interesting ever).--spark

hmmm...
If radio as suggested is a dead sea of boring retail ads, then shouldn't it be easier to punch through the 'clutter' as it were and create some truly memorable spots by comparison? -hack, genius you decide.

re:radio is the ultimate
FUCK YOU!!!!!

10:59 a.m.

radio is the ultimate
it is the only medium where your market creates its own impression (visual/aural/mental) of what you're trying to communicate. it is the single most powerful emmotive medium when it works. and when it doesn't it's your fault. it is, has been, and still remains the proving ground of any writer worth their salt. think about it a little longer. just because there's a load of shit out there doesn't mean a medium is dead. christ... get out of your own asses and actually start thinking.

Hey
Anyone know when the young creative contest is this year?

10:51 a.m.

I completely agree.
Radio is a retail thing. And radio is dead because of that. Radio is dead not because geniuses like wayfd are'nt able to come up with funny little scripts and stuff. It's dead because all you are doing wayfd is entertaining yourself with it. The bottom line is NO ONE LISTENS TO THE CRAP. Ask your friends outside of the business the last time they heard a good radio spot.

10:38 a.m.

The Final Word on Radio
I'd like to quote Mark Fitzgerald (now at Bates) who once said, "Radio is a retail medium, and a dead one at that" 'nuff said.
